I haven’t bought Groupon for a long long time.
A few days ago, I went on to Groupon to see if there are any places with good deals.
I found Zewadeh Mediterranean Grill with a $15 for $20 deal and an extra 20% off coupon.
That makes it $12 to get $20 of food and drinks.
The restaurant has good reviews on Yelp.
So let’s give it a try.
The small eatery has a “fast food” style setting.
You order at the counter, and they’ll bring the food to you when it’s ready.
Most of the customers came in to get take-out.
After looking over the menu, we ordered the Mashawi (Mixed Grill) to share.
The platter comes with chicken, beef, lamb and kofta kabobs.
Lots of variety and lots of meat.
The meat has really good seasoning and full of flavor.
The chicken and kofta were my favorites.
The beef was great, but lamb was a bit overcooked.
Overall we love the flavor of the grilled meats.
Don’t forget to request their special garlic sauce!
We got the garlic sauce, tahini sauce and spicy chili sauce.
The meat tastes even better with the sauces.
The mixed grill platter also comes with two sides.
We had hummus for our first side.
Creamy, smooth, and delicious.
We love eating the soft pita bread with the hummus.
The second side we picked was Taboli.
It was a simple salad with lots of citrusy flavor.
We also ordered an extra side of Mediterranean Salad.
Lettuce, cucumber and tomatoes. So simple yet so good.
When we lived in Los Angeles, one of our favorite restaurants is Sunnin Lebanese Cafe in Westwood.
We thought the flavor of Zewadeh was similar to Sunnin.
The owner told us they are from Jordan, which is very close to Lebanon.
So the flavor of their cuisine has some Lebanese influence, and mixed with other nearby countries.
We really enjoyed the food at Zewadeh, and will definitely return again soon.
They also have an awesome $5 lunch special before 3pm.
