I was in the mood for hot pot, and found Blazin Hotpot on Yelp.
We are not too familiar with Anaheim area.
And we had to pass by some really sketchy parts of the city to get to the restaurant.
We ordered popcorn chicken for appetizer.
It was dry.The chicken pieces are cut too small.
It also lack the proper seasoning of Taiwanese popcorn chicken.
They gave you a sweet dipping sauce for the popcorn chicken.
Not authentic at all.
For the shabu, you pick a soup base, then the protein you like.
We both picked Taiwanese Satay soup base with ribeye steak.
The soup base tastes a bit like Boiling Point’s beef pot soup.
The meat was decent quality, and they gave you a lot of veggies.
The hot pot wasn’t too bad, but it wasn’t all that great either.
It’s the type of food that you can get full on, but nothing too special about it.
There were 2 waitress working that night.
The restaurant wasn’t busy at all.
The waitress were both really nice and friendly.
But service was extremely slow.
We had to wait for a very long time for the food.
Then had to wait for a very long time for the check.
This restaurant was just ok.
We probably won’t be back again.
Boiling Point is much better.
