We were craving for Chinese dumplings and noodles.
It was Sunday afternoon, and every Chinese restaurants in Irvine was packed.
Luckily we only had to waited for about 20 minutes and got a table at 101 Noodle Express.
Dr. P was in the mood for pig ears.
The cold appetizer was a mixture of pig ears, beef tripe and tofu.
Slightly spicy and quite tasty.
Dan dan noodles was not spicy at all.
I didn’t really taste sesame paste or peanut sauce, either.
It tasted more like Chinese bean paste noodles than dan dan noodles.
It was good, but just not the dan dan noodles I was craving for.
We love their beef noodle soup.
Must get it with their handmade wide noodles.
Beef was very tender, and broth so flavorful.
Leek shrimp pork fried dumpling was a little oily.
The filling was so full both in size and flavor.
Don’t forget to ask the waitstaff for the spicy pickled vegetables.
They only give it to you when you ask.
It’s spicy and crunchy, and it’s a must have with the dumplings!
